Email from Caucus Killers

Let Colorado Vote 2016

Exciting news, John!

Both of our Let Colorado Vote initiatives have officially qualified for the ballot. This is an important milestone in our work to strengthen our democracy. Reinstating a presidential primary and opening up primaries to Colorado's 1.3 million unaffiliated voters will make our elections more open and more fair for all Coloradans.

We can’t let our focus slip, though, because qualifying for the ballot was just a first step. Now the real work begins: getting these propositions passed. That means building a dedicated on-the-ground team that will connect with voters to make sure they know what a “yes” vote will mean – especially unaffiliated Coloradans, who make up more than one-third of the electorate.

With Election Day coming up fastwe don’t have time to make up for a missed fundraising goal. Can we count on you for a donation to restore fairness and increase participation in our elections?

Donate now to help us go straight to the voters to enact these propositions and expand voter engagement in Colorado.

We can’t thank you enough for helping make sure every Coloradan’s voice is heard.

Now let’s go win.

Help us! Plus new Colorado Caucus publication.

New! Colorado Caucus Daily:

Help! Let's each do the little we can between now and next Wednesday when the Colorado legislature adjourns and trust that little with God's help is enough.

Here is one thing you can do that will take less than an hour but will make a big, big difference:

Call your Colorado legislators, say "Save the Caucus! Vote NO on the Colorado Caucus killing House Bill 1454 and Senate Bill 216. We know they kill the Colorado Caucus because they did just that when we experimented with exactly the same thing here in Colorado for a couple of election cycles not long ago. A so called "Presidential Primary" is expensive, meaningless, and it is a Caucus killer. Say NO now online with email and social media, and keep saying NO every time you can between now and next Wednesday. Please, help us Save the Caucus!"

Shut up, Colorado!

That is the essence of misguided legislation introduced today.

House Bill 16-1454 will kill the Colorado Caucus.

The way it is being promoted is an exercise in double speak. Restore the Presidential Primary? Very misleading description, Colorado experimented with an expensive special election. It was quickly abandoned. No benefit to it then, there will be no benefit now. And we know from that experiment it kills our wonderful Colorado Caucus, the best chance the common person has of serving in elected public office.

Urge your Colorado House Representative to vote NO on HB 16-1454.

John Wren calls for resignations in Greeley Tribune.

Do you agree, both state chairs should resign? Why? See: Http://Facebook.com/Colorado.Caucus.News

Light a Candle March 1 for Colorado Caucus.

For video and media release about this see http://wrensjournal.blogspot.com/2016/02/startup-show-save-caucus.html?spref=tw

PLEASE SHARE your spiritual way of living, next Tuesday (3/1) go and SERVE your neighbors. (Just sent out on Twitter to people in 12-step recovery programs.)

How can you be of service? Read through the info posted here on this site for some ideas right now.

What more ideas?  Ask someone who has gone to their precinct caucus, one good way is to go to an assisted living facility, as to visit someone who has had an interest in the elections, tell the nurse at the front desk the fact that you want to learn from their experience.

Watch for more ideas here and especially on our Facebook Page where we are going to turn this into another contest later today, see http://Facebook.com/Colorado.Caucus.News

Let your little light shine!

Absentee ballot for Colorado Caucus?

Question:  if I'm going to be out of town March 1 can I mail in my vote?

John Wren's personal opinion: No, your neighborhood caucus is a deliberative body, voting in it by mail would be like serving on a jury but skipping the trial and just mailing in you guilty or not guilty decision.

You have a couple of months, if it's very important to you, maybe you can rearrange your schedule.

Otherwise be part of the sample in two years, and you can certainly work in your neighborhood and elsewhere for the candidate of your choice between now and March 1 to influence those who will be taking their turn for "jury duty" in our representative system the Colorado Caucus, the best chance the common person as of serving in elected public office.

For the official answer contact the Colorado Secretary of States office, they are doing a better and better job explaining the Colorado Caucus.

I've suggested part of the Secretary of States job be to put on a TV special and info in the blue book explaining the virtues of our two party system Colorado Caucus, and the enhanced ability it gives the person without great wealth or other power to serve their neighbors as their elective representative or party leader.

Other opinions on this? Please post as a comment here. If you do call the Colorado Secretary of State please let us know what they say to you, ok?

Next question?
